Please join IES MSP and NCEES either in-person or virtually on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 11:30 am for the "Lighting Code and Energy Compliance" program.
Learning objectives:
- Overview of the various energy codes in the Midwest and across the country
- Overview of MN Energy Code and the MN Code Cycle
- Deep Dive into MN Energy Code including:
-Occupancy Sensor Requirements
-Daylight Harvesting Requirements
-Dimming and Switching Requirements
-Plug Load/Receptacle Controls
-Exterior Lighting Control Requirements
- Examples of how to meet or exceed these requirements with real world examples
- How MN Energy code differs from codes in ND, SD, IA and WI
- Overview of design resources available
- Important do’s and don’ts in lighting controls designs how to evaluate and select fixtures that minimize environmental impact while maintaining performance and aesthetics.

Featured Speaker: 
Geoff Wold has been working in the lighting controls industry locally for over 20 years and has specialized in energy management controls for most of that time. He came into the industry with a background in theatrical lighting and has designed lighting at many venues in the Twin Cities. He’s had experience with nearly a dozen different lighting control manufacturers and has been a resource to the specification community for lighting control and energy code requirements over the past two decades.
